Willie Ellison

Experience matters. That is the key to the success of Willie Dee Ellison II. His more than 30 years of media and public relations experience go back to 1987. The founder and CEO of Sapphire Marketing Inc. has been working with and covering major sports and entertainment in the Southern California region since the 1980s. That includes doing interviews, articles, photography, and public relations with the Lakers, Rams, Raiders, Dodgers, and Angels. He has covered the NFC Championship for the NFL and the Western Conference Finals for the NBA. Ellison has also worked with and covered NCAA programs, including USC and UCLA. He has covered NCAA tournaments and events, including several Rose Bowl games. Ellison, who also produces and promotes concerts, has been integral in the promotion and public relations of many celebrities and entertainment entities.

Ellison’s breadth of work includes work with musicians, singers, actors, and comedy legends. Ellison’s extensive work in media has forwarded him the opportunity to interview giants that were at the forefront of social justice and civil rights. Among the list of incredible people that Ellison has interviewed include actor/activist power couple Ossie Davis and Ruby Dee, Kwame Ture (born Stokely Carmichael), Geronimo Pratt, Rosa Parks, author Alex Haley, and Rev. Jesse Jackson. Media and Public Relations are his passions, it is undeniable. The Southern California native has garnered many awards and achievements since his days at California State University, San Bernardino.
